HO HO HO HO HO

Only four of us showed up for watercolor class tonight. So, we didn't start the new landscape project - we drew and painted this old man who's already headed our way.... actually, he's here.

There was Christmas stuff in the stores last week.

what a great photo of my favourite man! :o)

I was the owner of a christmas shop down here in Australia for many years so this is my favourite time of the year for sure (but no snow!!!!) down here.

Your blog is lovely and I am sure to be back to see some more lovely art.

have a great day.

YES! Christmas is up in Hobby Lobby. There is more Christmas than fall/thanksgiving.

I have a friend who keeps her christmas tree up year around and decorates it for the holiday that's at hand. Like pumpkins, for halloween, hearts, valentines day... she's NOT irish but you will also find shamrocks in march.

This friend is fun to be around

(whispering)for about 10 minutes at a time.

did you paint that Santa??

Very nicely done.... Christmas has appeared here too ... on the ground (snow) and in the malls.

Pamela, did you paint that? Very nice...it really looks like a Christmas card!!!
Pamela said…
yes.. I painted it and I'm thinking about taking it up to Staples and making some card stock for Christmas.

I thought he looked sort of like Mrs. Clause had just told him he forgot to pick up the dry cleaning.

Hi Pamela,

Making your Santa into a Christmas card sounds like a great idea!! You are so talented. That's a wonderful painting. Anyone receiving your card will be very lucky.

Is it just me, or do the stores put out the Christmas stuff a week earlier every year? Before you know it, we'll be Christmas shopping year-round!

WOW! Did you actually do that?

You are so dang talented.

Wow! You're my hero! I want to paint like that. I have been SO itchy to sign up for a painting class, but it's just so dang hard to find the time with three kids and a full time job. Maybe in a year or two when the kids are a little older...

You truly have a gift! That would make wonderful Christmas cards!
We went to Target this morning and the Christmas eleves had been hard at work in the night. Every single Halloween decoration had been replaced by Christmas (and lovely Christmas music) I'm so NOT ready!!

Yes - make those into Christmas Cards!!!!!!

Pam, your santa is beautiful!! I really think you should use it for your cards. It means so much more to have the personal touch!!

O.K., technical question... What color blue or combo did you use in the sky, I have trouble with the darker colors... too staining to get that much affect from the salt.

Aww he's all rosy and happy.

devon
indigo, indigo and cobalt, cobalt
.... and it dried too fast for full effect. Plus I used a #2 pencil when I drew it so I had quite a few pencil lines... so it's pencil and watercolor

Thanks for reminding me I have to buckle down and get to work on my loooong shopping list. Arrrrrgh! :p
Great Clause!
I've been blasting the Christmas music since September; of course, I have to blast the air conditioner, too :)

Love the painting! You really should do a Project 365 with all your artwork!

Christmas seems to come to the stores earlier each year!

NO! NO! NO! YOU DID THAT?

Why should I be surprised? I love it, sweets. You may wrap it up and send it to me as soon as your cards are finished. I will send back to you a photograph of it on my wall. Deal? huh, huh??

That being said, IT MAKES ME SICK FOR STORES TO HAVE HAD THEIR CHRISTMAS STUFF UP THE WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMAS!!! >:(. ...in case you're wondering what I think, that's about the gist of it.
