Golden Morning

The moon woke me. It was shining through the sky window and I heard it in my mind as the cooing of a homing pigeon. I knew she was out there flying behind the clouds and the foggy mists. Her southern journey sent her flight path across the room to light a feathery pattern on the floor. Welcome home.

The sun delighted my morning simply by rising over the mountains. His presence beckoned me through each window looking east. I desire his warm embrace. I am wary of his kisses that leave marks upon my once flawless complexion. But I can't help but raise my chin and close my eyes and hold him my arms and breathe a thank you. Please stay.

How about a trade? I can give you some of my July/August sun and you can give me some of your December/ January rains.

Very nice mom.

I saw sun today too - a nice break from the constant winter fog I have moved to.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. "You have a gift, Pamela."

That being said, I'm not a morning person. I've never come anywhere close to thoughts like this when I am awakened in the morning. I'm a real grouch! I think I'm going to print this out and put it in a frame next to my bed.

Beautifully written, Pamela.

In regards to your question about my granny's bird book....no, I don't have it and neither does my mom. When Grandpa died 7 years after Granny, Mom tried to divide the "special" possessions equally among her siblings and the 26 grandchildren. One of my oldest cousins received Granny's bird book. In fact, that cousin is the son of the boy who is peeking out from behind Granny in the picture on my web site.

don't you love when you wake up and you are exactly where you want to be?

We have more sunny days here than Florida (300+ a year every year like clockwork). And I still never take a beautiful morning for granted.

It is foggy and snowy here, so Golden Morning was just what I needed. Nicely done. (Thank you for the card !)

You are so good with words! Foggy here this morning. . .UG. . .

Do you think you could write something this soothing about being woke by a dad-gum barking dog???? :)
