I'm Just Peachy
Look CLOSELY at that yummy juicy nectarine. If it wasn't for Rainier Cherries, I think the nectarine would be my most favorite summer fruit. *Tropical Fruit excluded.
That is why I ate two of them for lunch on Monday. It was my last meal, so to speak, and I wanted something that I would genuinely enjoy.
Tuesday morning I was scheduled to have a mid life crisis. You know -- a colonoscopy. This meant that I was denied dinner on Monday night. Instead, I guzzled water, caplets, more water, and more caplets.
After a miserable night, I was required to get up with the sun, eat no breakfast, and repeat the caplet and water torture one more time. I doubt the need to tell you the intended results. I will concur that it works.
Upon my arrival at the clinic, the nurse assured me that the worst of it was over. She was correct.
I don't remember anything until I heard her calling, "Wake up Pamela, wake up!!!"
Then the Gastroenterologist turned around and asked, "Say, do you like nectarines."
Even in my loopy stage of awakening, I knew that it couldn't be a routine question. Especially when he, the nurse, and the anesthesiologist were all giggling.
I can't believe I am showing this to the world. The doctor saw a strange growth of my colon and maneuvered the microscopic camera in for a closer view.
Yes, indeed! Nectarine Summeripe 4378.
You don't need to enlarge it - take my word for it.
The physicians first encounter with one in over 30 years of practice.
It could only happen to me.

That nectarine looks good though!
Those are two words I never thought I would utter in my lifetime.
Bwahaha! ;p
I love your blog. The title is my mantra!!!
Now I love it even more because you have a nectarine stamp inside your colon and a picture to prove it!
I assume the rest of the procedure looks...dare I say...peachy?
I have 4 years before I have to have a colonoscopy.
This is so funny and thank you for sharing with us. I guess you can say you were "testing" your doctor to see if he preformed a thorough job. :)
I love nectarines and cherries. The only fruit I do not like is strawberries and kiwi but that is because of the seeds.
I did send you an email. :) If you don't get it, let me know. :)
I'm curious if it was just me, or if they are misjudging the effects?? How did you respond?
Those cherries you spoke of, they have them here in the produce section this week. I didn't get any but they sure are pretty. Last week I bought the regular cherries to float in lemonaide to look pretty. What do you do with the R Cherries?
Thanks for sharing..., er, I think.
Have a peachy day!
ok, so how was the report? everything else ok??
By the way, I'll finally get to go to FedEx to pick up my package today. I'm mad at them. The other day (the day before I left for Chicago), I stayed home as long as possible to catch them (I couldn't pick it up in person b/c it was already on the truck), then left a note asking if my neighbor could sign for it (we had left a note before with our signature, but they said they needed the sig in person). I had to get to the hospital to be with my dad, so i couldn't wait any longer.
So today is the first day since I've been back that I can go pick it up, and I'm so excited!!! (Don't worry, if the chocolate melted, I have no problem sticking it in the fridge then eating it.)
I'm guessing that label will be the picture of the day for sometime to come at that clinic!!
xo
You silly goose! What an awesome story though!
Other than the sticker, everything looked good?
Enjoy your meals!
This will be a great story for years to come. I can't believe you shared this with us! You're one brave lady.
I love nectarines too :)
hahaha, I gotta show this to my sister, she just had a colonoscopy and shes an RN and still complaining about it....heheheh pamela, you rock!
I'm always finding those pesky stickers just in time...
Nothing like eating something that...ahem...sticks to your ribs! ;)
Especially a true one;))
Glad you're all okie-dokie!
Nice colon.
Hope the results were good!
Brilliantly told!
Hope you are ok!
*lol*
So did they remove it?
remember "hugging and chalking"?
happy day!
I've told you I blushed (blog + crush) you before, but now I'm like totally enamored. That you did this is hilarious. That you did this and posted it on the whole world wide freakin' web? Deliciously wonderful.
You're my hero, 'rine Girl.
Glad to hear that the procedure went well.
Next time you need to swallow a smiley face sticker.
This is the funniest thing I've read!
The nectarine looks good, but I'll pass on the sticker.
LOVE IT.
i hope everything else turned out ok. I have two more years before my next up and down.. i really just love the cleaninsing process don't you :P (yeah that was sarcasm by the way)

Hysterical! I passed it on to my folks - I know they'll get a real kick out of it.
