109 Degrees
If you can't stay cool... then at least you can make cool faces. A special greeting from my favorite new six year-old neighbor.
Yes, it really was that hot today. The dragonflies stayed close to our small pond. My mom called them Devil's Darning Needles.
We have friendly fish. Each and every time I walk off the patio they surface and beg for food. The hubby hopped in to clean something off of the pond bottom and they swam around between his legs and nibbled on his toes.
After work, I drove home in a frying pan. The lily and I are both wilted.

I just loved the photos in this post. Although I now cannot stop thinking about frying pans with wheels and how handy that would be at serving time.
love your "fish pond", and the lilies! great shots!!
Lurv these photos.
Love the fish pond...
great photos today!!!
take care today and happy FRIDAY!:)
The weather will stay like this for the next two months! Sigh, no rain in sight! My roses go from no blooms, to a bud, to a new bloom and by afternoon, withered and spent looking. If I don't cut them the first morning they open, it is too late by that evening. O.K., now I am whining... sorry!
Hope you have a great weekend!
Great dragonfly pics
Blessings!
I love love love the new header!
I love your friendly fish, how cute!
Hope you've found a way to stay cool. It's been hot here and we've been spending a lot of time in the pool.
I remember those sort of days while living in other parts of the world.
LOVED your neighbors picture and those of the flowers and creatures! You take such glorious ones!! Even in that heat! I would be just like that lily...wilting all over myself.
Stay cool!! But then, you ARE cool. And, you rock too!
I am glad that you got that award...'cause you DO!
Hugs,
Sue
you hotter than Oklahoma.
stay cool.
xo
Cute kid. At least the heat wasn't affecting her so much that she couldn't have a little fun w/screwy faces.
And very cool pond! We have one like that and I even have a couple of fish that look like the one in the photo. Ours are friendly too, but it's a major chore keeping the pond clean because of all the Bufo toads that have decided to call our pond home for the summer. They're loud. They're poisonous (if they ooze on you and you have an open wound/scratch). And I'm sure the fish hate 'em. But I can't figure out how to get rid of 'em.
Yeah its been pretty hot here to, I don't think its gotten that high yet though. I really hope it doesn't although my car feels like a frying pan also at night when I get off work!
The photographs of the lilies are soooo gorgeous! Breathtaking!
I hate that kind of heat. Here in TX when it gets over 100, it just takes your breath away and zaps your energy.
Luckily so far our temps have not reached 100....YET. But the rain is still coming, for some it is really bad. I am glad I am on a hill!
I love your good attitude!
Beautiful pond too. The photography is exquisite.
I'm so glad you get to be a good neighbor to the little one. I remember a neighbor from childhood that made such an impression on me as a child. I can still remember what it felt like to be loved by them.
Your little neighbour looks like a Q-T!
Stay cool!
Wonderful pictures, though!
Try to stay cool, Pamela!
I can't say I have ever felt that kind of heat... I melt in 85 degree weather. I can't imagine anything hotter...
love the pictures!
I think the worst feeling is when it's hot outside and you open the car door to get in and the steam melts the makeup off your face. At least it is to me.
Certainly seems like you could. Love the lily shot, among others.
