Mt. Rainier

Sunday proved to be the perfect day for us to choose the long road home. It took us about an hour longer in travel time.

Chinook Pass was gorgeous. The clouds lifted and the majestic mountain posed in white chiffon, blue silk, and green velvet.

She towers over 14,400 feet.
Driving up the Western slope.

The pass reaches its summit at 5,432 feet.

A view from the first east side curve. The cars on the highway look like ants.

I was lucky enough to meet Mt Rainier in person and walk some paths and even horseback ride on it!!... that's my person favorite mountain!!.. beautiful shots!

It's strange though, no matter how beautiful photo's are of Mt Rainier or anything really... it still can't capture how you feel when you see it for yourself.

Wow! It's so strange to see photos of snow when it's still in the upper 80s here!

I love coming over Rye Grass on a clear day and seeing Mt. Rainier. It's a worthwhile trip that I haven't taken in a long time.

PS I have tagged you for a meme on my blog. http://maudie-mae.blogspot.com/2007/09/profile-meme.html. I hope you will play along.
