The Project
The hubby's project this summer: Create a small pond next to the house and a creek that trickles beneath the bridge and into the larger pond. Build a deck next to the larger pond on which we can set a table and umbrella. Lay a cobblestone walk from the patio to the side of the house.
The summer was busy and continues to stretch him in 100 ways. However, his goal is nearly accomplished. Just a few finishing touches.
In the meantime I enjoy the little babbling brook, the water flora, and my coffee each morning.

You mentioned on my oregon trail post that your grandmother actually traveled in a covered wagon...amazing! I'm going to find those posts where you published parts of her journal and go read them...what a treasure that it survived in your family all these years!
you are lucky and tell you hubs I said "way to go!"
We have a water source heat pump that runs into a large pond in front of our house then through a little creek across the yard and into another smaller pond below the bridge from our garage to the house. It is very much a work in progress and we haven't stayed on it like your dh. The portion of the creek I dug was way too shallow and it has been backing up onto our cedars (which will kill them). I spent an hour and a half pulling out rock from the creek bed and digging some more in the muck. There's a lot left to be done!
Tell your dh he has inspired me to get off my butt and get to work on it:o)
I can't wait to see it in person. Looks like all that hard work has paid off.
Our plans for the summer were a little less ambitious. We planted some flowers along our chain link fence... and then someone came along and dug a bunch of them out for his (her?) own garden. Garrr, no one can steal a pond, maybe that's what we'll have to have instead.
Wouldn't that be nice? ;)
Would your husband like to come and stay with me for a while? We could really use a water feature.
....do you loan him out?
Your hubby deserves something special for that feat!
