Vintage Clothes - Fun Monday

Ms Cellania also known as ChrisB is hosting today's FUN MONDAY and said, "I love blogging because I'm interested (some would say nosey) in people and their lives ....I would like to see a photo of a vintage item of clothes-"

If 1976 is vintage enough for you (bet it is older than some of you) then please take a look at my wedding dress. Some of you may remember the wedding picture. It wasn't fancy and it wasn't white.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I loved it.

Today I photographed it on the clematis trellis because my bedroom was too dusty.

My granddaughter Buttercup helped me choose the spot and then modeled it as well. She stood on the piano stool and posed in a very professional manner - as any 3 1/2 year old precious blossom would.

"I don't want to take it off, Grandma!" she cried. "I'm a Princess!!"

I remember feeling the very same way.

If you want to see real vintage that we keep wrapped and sealed, you need to check out Oscar's Suit.

By the way, your granddaughter looks darling in your dress. I bet you looked beautiful on your wedding day.

You're such a trailblazer, with all that pink, though. And it was the 70's -- you know all that bra-burning...

Hope to see Me2 on Wednesday!

Hey, did you hear Robin's news?

I love the setting you and Buttercup chose to photograph the dress! Perfect.

Christ, sometimes I find it hard to relate to you people.

Awww, that is so sweet!

That definitely looks like a 70's dress! Perfect style for that era.

OK, your granddaughter is totally adorable. She obviously takes after her grandma, and not that hairy grandpa of hers!

Oh, I am so kidding. He looks like a real 70's style stud muffin!

Buttercup makes a beautiful model. I remember having that style of dress they were the height of fashion. I loved the photos of Oscar's suit that really is a treasure.

Your granddaughter is a princess, and she has picked a lovely spot to photograph the lovely dress. Sadly, I no longer have my wedding dress.

Yes, she is a Princess. What fun to let her model for us.
..your bedroom was too dusty...you are a hoot. As if you could have 'seen' the dust?

That's a very cool, non-traditional dress.

love it! would be a great dress for sitting in a punt sipping champagne!

how cute she is in the dress!!

I wasn't very traditional either.. would you believe I wore my "prom dress" (it was white) for my wedding?! And it was knee length! I was married in 1965.

I think it is wonderful and you looked glorious, as does sweet Buttercup! : )
A true Princess indeed.
I loved the wedding photo...I would kill for a neck that long. You looked gorgeous.
Still do. That's a fact.
The dress is still beautiful, as are you and your husband, after 30 years. We will have our 30th next year. 70s style is very in now huh? You could wear that dress again!
Hugs,
Sue

Good morning Pamela,
Buttercup is absolutely gorgeous in your wedding dress. Loved your wedding photo, despite the perm .. lol. I thoroughly enjoyed the tradition of Oscar's suit. That is very impressive.

Have a great day,
Betty :)

1) OF COURSE, the dust can wait!

2) You ARE a princess...somewhere along the way, I heard you had royal blood running through your veins ;).

3) BC's expression is adorable. I know she had sooo much fun modeling your dress!

4) Even in a short post like this, I love the way you choose your words....:)

What a wonderful moment for you . . . to see your granddaughter in your wedding dress. Who knows, it may come back in style by the time she's older.

It's hard to believe that your sweet little Buttercup will be able to fit into that dress one day! What a sweet picture - and I love the dress. I only wish young girls would be willing to dress like that today ;)

Hi Pam:-) Such a lovely wedding dress...you got married the same year I did:-) Your little grandaughter looks so precious modeling the dress for us!! xo
Dear pamela. yes, it's older than me. It's beautiful. As one person who didn't get married in white to another, I think your dress is simply lovely and very romantic. I love your model too.

I love the vintage post!! It got me thinking about some dresses I found in my parents' attic ... one was a dress I wore to my 8th grade dance and another was my prom dress. I know I dragged them to Indiana, but I think I got rid of them when I moved to Atlanta. Too bad, I would have posted pics of them!
