What's a Little Rain

I heard it begin tapping on the sky window last night.

However, you won't hear me complaining. Especially after reading about 12 feet of snow in that little town in New York.

This morning ABC news showed a video at least 10 times of a semi-truck smashing several cars into a state patrol car. It was recorded on the patrol cars front camera. Other video's featured sliding cars and pedestrians, snow removal from the roofs as well as streets, and other snow related misadventure.

GMA interviewed passengers who sat inside jets on tarmacs for up to 10 hours. Their Valentines Day trips to tropical islands became a day in hell. (This is not the first time I've heard about an airline holding hostages for that long. There should be a law)

I'm thankful for the gentle rain, the little bits of mud that spatter the backs of my pants as I run down the street with my umbrella. I 'm thankful for the sound of the tires as they swish past me on the street.

I know there are places today where the sun is shining on the palm trees. Lucky you.

I'm still happy.

It's biting cold here yet, with wind chills way below zero, but at least it's sunny. No new snow or ice. I won't complain after seeing what others are dealing with!

When I had my first knee surgery, we got nearly 3 feet of snow...and I was on crutches! I don't miss that!! I'll take rain, and the sunny palms!! :)

Yea - what is up with spending 10 hours on the Tarmac. There should be a law!!! They can't say there wasn't a gate - because all they had to do was move an empty one.

Yeah, I saw that footage this morning. makes me feel bad for complaining about 4 inches of snow.

Not really, I've always been a pessimistic complainer LOL!

I saw that footage too. Years ago there was an episode of LA Law about being stuck on a plane on the tarmac.

The bald lawyer guy wanted to get off but they wouldn't let him, so he used his cellphone and got one of the other lawyers to take out an injunction against the airline over the plane so that it couldn't take off. Stalemate.

10 hours on a tarmac. I've served shorter jail sentences.

I do miss winter, but I have to admit I was smiling this afternoon as I drove home from work w/the moonroof open and the sun setting behind rows and rows of royal palms alongside the highway.

And to think, the idiot weather folks were "warning" locals earlier today that a cold front would drop temperatures into the '50s this evening. I'll take it.

Yes, things could definitely be worse! We are very lucky to be safe and sound in our own homes.

We could use a little rain here in Colorado. Everytime it falls from the sky it turns white. It was sunny all day today, but bitter cold. We are going to take advantage of the white stuff Sunday and go skiing, yea!!!

I can't imagine being stuck on a plane that long. . .
It's been bitter cold here. . .One of the guys I work with is leaving Sunday for Cozumel (how nice would that be?). . .

Sometimes I think I could handle living in Seattle...I love the rain--the smell, the feel, the sound...

We had flurries this morning and they just made me smile :).

I am with Robin, I love the rain! The smell is one of my favorites! I love to walk outside before it rains and smell that it is coming. Oh to have those days again. I am tired of the bitter cold. Winter was nice for a while, but now it isn't fun anymore. I long for the mud on the back of my pants leg, the damp hair from running through the rain into the store, or wherever.

Thanks for the reminder to be thankful. I tend to forget things really could be worse.

I can't imagine 12 feet of snow nor can I imagine sitting in a plane going nowhere for 10 hours. I hope I never have to experience either!

I saw the same thing on the news. It is why I hate so much to have to go anywhere in this weather... For one thing, people drive like idiots....it doesn't matter what the weather.....why is everyone in such a hurry.....? Yes a little rain seems so simple, when you think of the roofs that have caved in on buildings from the snow.... but in some cases rain can be bad too.....oh this is getting depressing, sorry.....the sun is shining right now where I live, so lets let the SUN SHINE IN, and seal it with a grin.....judy
