Grandma's often brag.

Karmyns budding artists.
Two years ago, when my Ben'jammin was 3 1/2 and my Buttercup was just barely 1, both of them drew a picture for grandma's calendar.

'Jammin drew a bluebird.
I thought it would fly!

Buttercup gave me a flock of bluebirds. I'm sure I see a beak in there! Don't you?

I do! I do see a beak!! I even think there are a pair of WINGS in there !!

I think 'Jammin drew a beautiful bird. I think Buttercup drew that beautiful bird after it had a little RUN IN with someone's grill.

Of course there is a beak.

I have so many of these pictures in my memory boxes, but I have to label them with notes like "chicken" and "this is a swing set!" because in ten years, I am not going to remember what the hell they were supposed to be.

Wow that 3-year-old is quite an artist!!!!! You should be so proud-- and I definitely see the flock of birds. i wonder if they are coming to your house?

I have that bird picture framed - because it was one of his "brilliant" moments.

Now I only get pictures of stabbed pirates running through mazes or jumping off fire ships.

(and sadly, I don't think Buttercup's technique has advanced much in all this time)

I think I've seen Benjamin's bluebird in my "Stoke's Field Guide for Birds."
I can see two birds in Buttercup's drawing...the purple one WITH the eye and the blue one flying into the purple one from the other direction...a much larger bird.
I have a great story in my August Archives (I can't add a link here yet) about a little boy and his drawing. It's the Visual Spatial story with the hummingbirds. If you have time, it will only take about 1 minute to read it. I think you'll like it.

I see the beak, and some wings! Great pictures. They take after Grandma, very artistic!

Clearly your grandchildren have inherited the "artist gene" from their darling grandmother! NOT BAD!

A beak? Silly, I see several! What beautiful work they do. One day we will be able to say, we saw some of their first works. :)
