Raptors are such magnificent birds. They are fascinating to watch, but I wouldn't want to trade diets.

Lovely hawk! We have a few of those here in Niger as well, but they never stick around long enough for me to have an excuse not to dust, lol! Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment. Scrolling down your site, I found my way back to Esmé's blog again!

Do you have any connection with Africa, Pamela?

Greetings from Niger,
Esther

That is fabulous! Either you were using a really long lens, or that's one very focused bird. Unusual to find one so close to the ground perched like that. Usually they're up where they can command a wider view. Lucky you!

Great photo. We have hawks here but I am not sure if we have that kind. We also have ravens out back and I worry about the chickens now and then, but so far no trouble.

That's a beautiful shot, Pamela. We have a Cooper's hawk that visits our neighborhood on occasion (and usually manages to nab a songbird or two). Hope I can get as clear a shot next time.

Pam true what they say about the Hawk but what got my eye was the dust will wait Neat wish I knew more about how to do stuff like that

Great capture, Pamela. Did you get up close, or did you use a really great zoom?

Will you send that hawk over to your daughter's house to watch her neighbor's son? And maybe peck his eyes out?

Gorgeous photo! We get hawks here and they drive the Robins insane getting into their nests. It's a bit heartbreaking to sit on the deck and see one go after a nest with baby Robins in it. Nature sucks sometimes. But not when Hawks are sitting on fences like this. Hawks are gorgeous like this!

I have never seen one of those before. Do you have Red Headed Woodpeckers? We have a tree that is almost dead because of them pecking at it so much.

Great picture!
