I took this photo of the Great Gray Owl on Monday, 1-21-08.

I walked within 8 feet of him to take this picture. I needed to get close because I didn't have the telephoto lens with me.

I love this shot. You've inspired me to post an image of an owl that I took at the zoo a few weeks ago. The eyes always get me!

Thanks, also, for pointing out my little link-related boo-boo. I've posted a hasty update on last week's entry to redirect visitors to this week's post. Much appreciated!

Unbelievable, Pamela! THAT has got to be one of your all-time most amazing shots! (Rivaling the hummingbirds...).

GREAT job :)!

What a stunning fellow! You're a brave woman for venturing so close, but what an amazing shot!
He is gorgeous. And I am jealous you got so close to him. We have a lot of fake owl statues around town to scare off the birds--I would love to see a real one.

Very nice, Pamela! I photographed some ducks and a pair of geese today. I just grabbed my little Kodak. I should keep the Rebel close by and grab it, next time. Love that camera. I need a telephoto lens.
