Perigree Moon

Was the moon bigger last night? According to Spaceweather.com it is. 14% larger to be exact. The moon is in it's closest orbit of 2007. Its Perigree.

I love my Canon Power Shot (S2IS), but I haven't mastered all the settings. Like taking night pictures. This was the best of fifty.

Join the wolves tonight and go check it out.
Hooooooooowwwwwwwoooooooool.

Our moon (obvioulsy the same as your moon) was stunning on Tuesday evening, we were playing tennis and were commenting on the size of the moon.

great shot.
I just ran outside... in the snow to see if I could get a good photo. All I got was cold!

I too haven't mastered my camera. So I just got a blurry blob. LOL

By the way... I am staying here in blogger land. Just changing my name.

That is a beautiful shot. The great thing about digital is that you can take as many shots as you need to get it just right. Well, at least with non-moving targets:o) I've had trouble taking pictures of the moon, too. I have some pictures where the moon seems to be in motion--a bright streak across a dark sky. I think that happened on the night scene setting, but I can't remember. I'm a horrible fiddler and I just start changing settings and moving the dial until I get what I want, not really paying attention to what I've done. I need to find that danged manual, too.

Somehow I missed that moon, even though I was out driving the kids around before dawn this morning.

I do think I accidentally showed the kids MY full moon this morning. Definitely not the same.

You should see a full moon at sea. Navy ships are not lit up like liners, and the light put out by the moon is absolutely amazing and beautiful.

That's lovely! I took photos of the moon two nights ago. :( I guess I should have done it last night. But I'm happy with how some of them turned out. :)

You got a much better shot of it than I did...it really caught my eye last night because it did seem so much bigger. It wasn't my imagination after all! hehe xox

Thank you for the heads up. I'll take the kids out to see it tonight.

I took Curly Mop outside last night to look at the moon. It looked so big. We saw an airplane flying by at the same time. She said to me, "Mama, it gonna crash!" She must have thought that the plane was headed for the moon. ha ha

thats a great shot. I dont have enough zoom to take a decent shot like that... sadly! I love to try though!

I wonder what the view of the moon is like for the crew on the space shuttle!?!?!? they went up on Tues.

Wow--I love all your pictures--they are really beautiful--especially the autumn colors. Unfortunately, we don't really have great seasons here . . .

Fifty shots? You are one patient photographer! I think I have the same camera and I didn't know it takes night pictures! I'm going to have to hunt up the manual now!

That's gorgeous!

I need to master my camera setting too, I've had it since August but still need to read the manual.
It may be the best of your fifty, but it's also better than any moon shot I've ever taken. Beautiful, as always.
