Precious Little Notes
We have such amazing ways to communicate in this ever increasing mobile world. Just think of the tools we use to contact family and friends other than meeting face to face. I'm sure I don’t know half the current terms that describe the electronic media that is available for purchase. Do you ever stand wide-eyed and act perhaps a little embarrassed when someone speaks about an upgrade or an innovative new gadget that completely baffles you?
With that in mind, I feel that some things should never become antiquated or or go out of style. Things like writing words on paper. Things like thank you notes. Especially thank you notes from grand-children.
I hold them in my hands and run my fingers across the paper that the children held in their hands. My eyes mist over when the words they wrote are read aloud. Simple and sweet. After the notes have been smiled over and caressed, and maybe shared with a few friends, they can be stored in a safe place.
Later, I can pull them out to read and touch again.
Buttercup adds a little art work!
Jammin' adds a little bit of school information. Maybe mom told him the letter was too short.
Dear Grandma, Thank you for the Batman Costume. You can see I'm running all over the place in my mask and cape. Love, The Caboose.
You kids are so welcome!
Someday, when they are grown and have children of their own, I hope they read this in one of my published blog books.
I hope they hold it in their hands and run their fingers across the pages that I held in mine. Perhaps their eyes may mist over when the words are read aloud. Simple and sweet. After the book has been smiled over and caressed, and maybe shared with a few friends, it will be stored in a safe place.
And later pulled out to read and touch again.

Thank you for sharing :)
great post, Pamela.
Now you made me curious what do you mean by "my published blog books" ?
My little grandson will be 2 months old on Jan 17, a little early to write me notes, lol !
You've a heart of gold and so do your grands... I hope they too... will always cherish the memories of the times spent with (or thinking about) you.
and I've realized how important the hand-written word is. It is the only personal thing left anymore in this world of e-mail and texting.
Dang these hormones - makes me weepy!
:)
you have a book? spill the beans?
