Great shot. Love those hummingbirds. Ours have gone way southfor awhile. You come on over for the black-eyed peas. There's a place waiting for you at the table.
Ahhhh! I see the imagination of God in that little bird's tongue!! And body and face and wings!
Amazing capture, Pamela.
HAPPY NEW YEAR SWEETS! I've missed you (and everyone else, for that matter).
Blessings now and always :).

excellent photo - we have hummers that make their way through - going to AZ I imagine, maybe Hawaii - anywhere but here... but hey always return. We even had a Bumblebee hummer this last fall. Once they return, we'll share ... Do you get the Rufus?

What an amazing picture! Mom and I went out to the lake yesterday to see if we could spy any eagles. We only saw one big 'Grandpappy'. It was cold and very windy so our eagle spying didn't last very long.
Beautiful picture Pamela!! I miss birds. They have all left for warmer climates. Well... okay we still see sea gulls when we're driving near the dump. Not quite the same thrill there ya know?

i have always wanted to see hummingbirds with my own eyes but i guess it's impossible because we don't have them here in my country.
what!?!?!!???!? It is only 2 in the morning and you already have 26 comments? wow! You know what that says, right? People get up in the middle of the night just to read your blog. Hey ... happy new year! My pc is fixed and I am back. I should be around often. Thanks for the notes and friendship. I think of you often. May this year bring you many happy moments and many more excellent snap shots.
A while back I posted my Eagle pic..we had one right by our house..It made the news evan!! I thought my pic on the news I felt a bit famous!! yep right to my heaad!!! hahahhaa
Yes, there were not many visitors at all. At one point I was taking a picture of the back of Mt. Vernon and some people were about to be in my shot and my oldest ran into it. He didn't have time to get out of it before they were in it, so he hid behind the pillar...LOL!! Pretty quick thinking for a 5 year old!!

shut up! I can't believe you got that shot! I'm way proud of ya!
Excellent shot! I keep wondering how people get these bird shots. Do you sit still and wait a long, long time? Am I too impatient or just too slow? (I know I am slow!) Hummingbirds move so very fast, and they seem to be in constant motion. It's incredible to see one actually sitting still!
When I was in Maine during the summer, I so desparately wanted to see a real humming bird, so me matie Sharkie hung sugar water feeders outside the kitchen windows, and within a few hours the birds came....... gorgeous just gorgeous, we just dont have them over here.... lovely photo..

Taken outside my daughters house in western Oregon, where the Annas hummingbirds winter.
This little female was taking a break in the evergreen photinia hedge.

I'm beginning to wonder if I should add a copyright to my photos... I've noticed a few others doing that of late.
