Don't let the sprouted winter wheat fool you. Soon the blue mountains will be covered with snow and the Bluebird box and the wheat will be forgotten until spring.

This must be the week of the birdhouse or some such! Thanks for such a beautiful picture.

Bird house looks lonely with the spiderweb in the door. Winter must be coming soon.

Hi Pamela. Congratulations on choosing such a great picture for WW. The composition and spare colors make it a very memorable image.

Thanks for sharing this!

The barbed wire makes this shot to me...

does that make me odd?
Pamela said…
Robin (The Pensieve one)
no. I think that barbed wire is probably the one constant in that picture. Everything else would change with the season. Even the moss on the old post.

I don't think anyone has lived there recently! It IS the week of the birdhouse. But, it is a little sad to see them go...

Wow, love the contrast between the cobweb in the door, the barbed wire and greenery in the background. How quickly the seasons change....would love to see the same shot in the winter.

Even birdhouses have cobwebs! I have a few too. "Black bird singing in the dead of night. Take these broken wings and learn to fly. All your life, you were only waiting for this moment to arrive. Blackbird, fly!" (Beatles)

What this reminds me of is an old woman in my sewing class. A cheeky student asked her "Are you a virgin?" Her reply: "Born again." To the puzzled looks she replied: "cobwebs!"
