Big Foot (NOT)

Okay...so it is probably a rock and a shadow.

While up in the Blues this weekend, we were very close to the watershed wilderness where many Bigfoot stories originate.

I was taking some digital photo's of the moon coming over a distant ridge when something caught my eye and shivered down the back of my neck. It just looked like something looking back at me from the next ridge up.

I set my camera on 48X zoom and snapped two shots and hopped back in the truck. When I got home I realized my shaky hands did little to clarify whatever dark form had appeared in my lens. It is lying next to the tree stump.

I say it is Bigfoot (snicker.) The hubby says it is my imaginary friend. Karmyn said it could be a young bear. Jammin' says it's a monkey with a teddy bear, and Buttercup says it is Strawberry Shortcake.

You decide.

I'm thinking I'm glad I won't be in that wilderness any time soon!

oh i have 'yeti' to see anything like that and i hope i dont't!

I like the Bigfoot answer. I would also like a 48x lens on my camera. If you did see Bigfoot, a lens with that magnification would come in handy.

when I make the picture bigger... It totally looks like a bear, beside a tree stump.

I'm not sure I want to run into bigfoot... even with a 48 zoom!

Love the new look!!!

looks like a bear to me... but I wouldn't want to run into him either! Probably bigfoot would run away... a bear may not!

Hi Pamela, I'm goin' for Strawberry Shortcake, mainly because it sounds a lot safer than some of the other options.

lol - looks like a bear to me also

By the way - I LOVE YOUR NEW LOOK! ! ! I've been gone to long!

48x zoom works for me, if it's BigFoot. Stay back a nice safe distance and click away. Then run!!

You have a 48x zoom?! Oh, I'm so jealous! Mine is only 3x, which isn't adequate. Especially for those far-away baseball photos.

All I see is what looks like an eel head sticking up out of the ground, LOL.

Donald Duck. That's what I think. After a long, hard fight with the nephews (and a couple of pranks, of which Donald was on the receiving end).
Dear pamela. I have to agree with Buttercup - I think it's definitely Strawberry Shortcake.

Hm. I have to agree with Karmyn. Although Buttercup's answer makes perfect sense to me too.

I'd like to think it's one of the Seven Dwarfs... perhaps Grumpy... it looks like he has been out there for quite a while! ;-)

Bigfoot, how cool!!

I think its a bear, hubs agrees...

but if it was a Bigfoot, that would be so neat!
I think it is neat to have a recorded image of bigfoot. Of course this would be bigfoot's baby cause it is too small to be the original. Good thing mama bigfoot was not around or she might have charged you. Where are the "Blue Mountains"? Sounds like a pretty place with lots of "strange" wildlife. Oh, I am sorry Pam... your not strange.

Hehehe! Sounds like something I would do - shoot first, examine later (with my camera, that is). Actually, it looks like a red-billed turkey to me, but then *shrug* my own imagination's pretty wacky (just ask my Hubby!)

Anyway, first time here and just wanted to say 'hi!'.

He,he, I was not even looking at the right part of the picture. I think that I was looking at the tree stump. I like your purple written explanation.

Oh, it's definitely Bigfoot.

When you're being interviewed about your encounter on one of those weird midnight radio shows be sure to let us know, 'kay?!

Well it sure looks like a bear, but I think it is probably Bigfoot.
Looks like my first wife!!
She always could give you a good fright!
How the hell did she get there??

wonderful! it honestly makes me think.... log! But - I had a cousin 3X removed that carved some scary dragons from the rising ends of drift wood, and positioned them in his woods so the heads rose just above a bed of ferns.... enough to give you the shivers on a dark night!

the tree stump looks like a snake's head!

I love reading and catching up on your blog.

I love the feather dusters a very cute touch!

I will do my best to stay caught up. :)
Isn't that also mountain lion territory?

Either way, probably for the best that you moseyed along.

It definitely appears to be Strawberry Shortcake in her little black cocktail dress.

Just read your blog for the first time. Cool to be a daughter of the revolution, beautiful flowers, loved your illustration and haiku, not a sister of a cancer sister, love the look AND what IS that thing? I agree with the answer "carved faces and put them in the woods to spook people at night" but I think that the BIGFOOT PEOPLE CARVED IT AND PUT IT THERE TO HIDE THEIR ENTRANCE, seeing as how OBVIOUSLY they live IN the mountains. Where else do they go when we can't see them? ha. It couldn't have been a regular human that carved it... the carving is sooo ... not-having-mastered-the-human-face-ish. Yup ... that's my final word on that. ha.
Way to be vigilant. Keep up the good work. And watch your back. If movies have taught us anything it's this: While you are looking for the source of the noise/disturbance/etc AHEAD of you, it's ALWAYS behind you. Your blog is too cool to lose. Can't have bigfoot carting you off. But if he does, take pictures of his dwelling and then post them, OK? Wendy
