Grand Time

Greetings from somewhere east of Sacramento, California.

My eldest grandson has a "gaming" keyboard.  I guess I didn't even know such a thing existed.   All the squiggles and buttons on it make me cross eyed.   I'll be here for about two weeks - so I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.  (I can't find the delete button.)

I am helping my middle daughter with her children this week and next.  Her Traveling Nurse contract ends on March 6, afterwhich she is moving her family to Spokane.  That's about 10 hours closer to my house then their current address.

Smurf Ella is closing in on 9 months old and is quite the charmer.  She is so petite and sweet.   Today she surprised her mama by showing her how she could play pat-a-cake with grandma.

I'm thinking about marketing the 2 1/2 year old Dinkum as a "guaranteed weight loss" program.  As soon as he opens his eyes in the morning the chase is on.  I don't remember ever being so happy to put a child down for a nap.

Hope to be back in blogging world somewhere in March!

LOL! I figured out that I'm simply not in shape to take on my niece and nephew at these ages - 18 months and 3 1/2 years - and have offered to help but not take them both at once. Luckily, she has lots of young mother friends/ and other family to rely on.

We went to Shedd Aquarium last Friday, and I appointed myself chaser of the 3 1/2 yr old in the dense crowds. End of day, I was worn out! Smiling, but sooo tired.

Enjoy your time with the grandkids, although I bet you didn't need my suggestion for that:o)

Keeley is just now 'getting' pat a cake. I hadn't tried with her in a long time, but she really seems to get it now.

Fun to hear about your time with the kidos.
I am so glad mine are only a short 10 minute drive away. We would be in the poor house because i would always want to travel to see them.

The closest I come to grandkids is my husband's daughter's kids...but they live in Minneapolis so we do not see them often...the little guy who just turned three...we have only seen twice in his life. Enjoy the time that you have with them. I know you will, but I guarantee you will be ready for a nap yourself!!

Somewhere I once read that if you followed a toddler around and did the exact movements they did all day long, you'd burn 10x the amount of calories. I should give it a try.

Yea, you get to bend, reach, lift to a tighter glute and improved mobility. LOL Those little ones are a handful. Glad I only have my one son and at 9 years of age. I cannot pick him anymore - unless I want a hernia.

It might be tiring but it sounds like heaps of fun. And you still have time to come up with fabulous words on Lexulous! Enjoy the rest of the time with your grandchildren. It might be June before I get to see mine again so I'm looking forward to that visit.

We used to say of our niece that we were on the five-year-old diet. Which involved chasing a five-year-old niece around the house. (It was surprisingly effective.)
