Apple Festival

So many apples and pears. So little time.
(40 apple varieties, 10 pear)

One sign claimed that an apple brushed your teeth better than toothpaste. This one suggests the aroma is as lovely as french perfume. Mmmmmm!

My little grand pumpkins painted some of these little grand pumpkins.

I wonder how long you could carry an apple around without attracting flies.

Can you really taste the difference between all those apples? I know I couldn't. I didn't even know there were 40 different kinds!

One of the things I miss most about not driving truck anymore is missing the apple season in Wenatchee. Thanks for spurring my memories.

It does seem like there are so many varieties of apples from which to choose. When I was in elementary school, I can only remember red and golden delicious. (or maybe that's all my parents could afford!)
Looks like you had a wonderful fall day :)

Looks like a fun and beautiful Fall day.

Fresh Apple and Pear tasting...Yum!
I wish we had orchards around us to pick and taste.
What a great name for an apple!

I love apples! I have just started buying those ready sliced ones in the produce section... you can get red or green and they stay fresh in the kids lunches as well as on platters (without having to dip them in lemon juice and that only works 1/2 the time for me as I always miss spots!)

Next time I'm going to get in early so I can actually participate in the tasting!

We don't have apples growing here.
I can tell the difference in apples!

Looks like you had a really fun day. I just did a post a week back about how many types of apples are out there to buy....I think I would be exhausted by the time I got down all the names from the tasting.

Great pictures.

Take care,
Connie

Being from apple country we do see a lot of apples. But 40 is many! Not sure you can clean your teeth with them though... They still have fructose in them...

Looks like a fun weekend. You start your halloween celebrations way earlier than us.

What a GREAT way to sample the different varieties...but after 40 different bites, I DO wonder if you could tell a difference.

What a great theme for a festival, fresh from the trees there's nothing better than fruit of any kind.

I love apples - I need to eat them more often! It is definitely apple pie time, too.

Your post is making me drool.
What a neat event to attend. I wonder how something like that would work in Idaho with Potatoes? It would be interesting to see if anyone could tell the difference in potatoes. Have a nice day.

Fall is my favorite time of year, and one reason is the trip to the apple orchard...with my daughter and grand kids....it is so much fun walking the orchard and eating to make sure you pick the right apple....we always get a half bushel, and probably eat a peck...LOL....you sure do have a lot of little pumpkins....they look real cute....judy

We have a lovely orchard right by our house, but seeing all these varieties makes me miss my years in Kennewick. Grover's Orchard back on the hill behind my house made the best cider in the world!
