Fun Monday #29, Favorite Treat

Beckie from Give it A Try, One Day at a Time hosts today's Fun Monday. She wants to see our favorite treats.

I love whole wheat fruit bars so much that I often have cravings for them. The ones pictured here are raspberry filled. Other fruit choices are strawberry, blueberry, fig, apricot -- you get the idea.

They are packaged and sold under a locally owned market brand. I'm sure the "Whole Wheat" thing is just a gimmick to make me think I'm eating something that is good for me. It worked. I'm hooked.

The other thing I truly love is chocolate.

While driving in Seattle this weekend I snapped this bumper sticker on a chocolate lovers side window.

That pretty much sums it up.

Check in at Beckie's to see other's favorite indulgence.

i'm thinking that the fruit bars are definitely too healthy for a "treat" - lol! but i'm so with you on the chocolate! what a great bumpersticker!

Ok, since you say the Whole Wheat thing is probably a scam, I can live with those. Otherwise, I'm out.

Hey maybe Twinkies should start saying theirs are Whole Wheat too!

Love the bumper sticker -- just out of curiosity, was it on a VW bus? Just looking at the shape of the window - I'm a bus nut.

Yup. Chocolate. I could live in it.

Oh, what could be sweeter:
Chocolate Dipped Pamela's...
I think the "whole wheat" thing gotcha with their marketing ploy.

You just keep telling yourself those bars are healthy, if that is what you want to believe :)

I think that I have tried something like that before and it is pretty darn good and you can't go wrong with chocolate!

I HAVE to show this post to my husband. That sign? That sums him up perfectly. He is a chocolate man, never without his stash.

Domestic harmony is maintained because chocolate, though I like it, is not my consuming vice.

Can I just openly admit I love you? I read your reese's post at Karmyn's and it cracks me up. Mostly I love you for your willing to email me private advice about an, er slightly embarrassing predicament I was in. And I pray with all my heart that I have the relationship with my kids and grandkids that you have when the kids are grown.

those homemade treats are great. I LOVE these pralines only found in WaWa Ontario....now I am craving them!

that is a cool bumpersticker.

saturday morning the family and I were out to breakfast and a group of friendly firemen came into the restaurant. I thought about you :)

Love that sticker.

I just came from writing my Fun Monday all about chips, and then saw that you picked a "healthy" one! Sheesh. ;) At least you redeemedyourselfwith chocolate. :)
Y'a know, I'm more of a fruit bar than I am a "chocolate" kinda girl.

Or maybe I'm just a fruit.

Those do look like a healthy snack. If you wouldn't have said anything, I'm sure no one would ever have known the difference.

That is a great bumper sticker! I think I'd like to fall in chocolate right about now, Mmmmm!

Hey, WT, do you suppose if you eat enough Twinkies you'll live forever? Or at least look really great long after you're dead? Those preservatives ought to have some benefit to us, right?

Oh boy do I love that bumper sticker! SO TRUE! ;-)

Those fruit bars actually look mighty delicious, I love raspberry flavored stuff...and like you said "whole wheat" means it must be good for you, right? ;-)

Perfect example of "tellin' 'em what they wanna hear"! S U R E they're good for you. They couldn't tell a story, could they?

But that bumper? Could've been on my car ;). Chocolate is my friend. And enemy. Because there is such a think as liking something too much.
I need that bumper sticker! I'm not real big on fruit bars but, luckily, my kids love them!

What about fig newtons? I mean, who doesn't love fig newtons?

Ooh. I would love to try those apricot ones. I have been on somewhat of an apricot binge lately - my apricot preserves are dwindling more every day. Yummy!

I would also like to fall in chocolate. Let me know if you find a vat somewhere. I'll join you! :)

Chocolate would win for me most of the time but that healthy stuff looks good too. :) Maybe we could pour some chocolate sauce over it.

I am (fortunately) not so keen on sweet things, so I would rather eat fruits then chocolate.
Now I know the truth about you, you are sitting in a window and sell nice stuff to clients on the street ? lol !

How about those fruit bars covered in dark chocolate? With chocolate sprinkles? Chocolate is very healthy for your emotional well being and *I* must be the healthiest emotionally well human being there is!

The fruit bars do not tempt me.... but chocolate? That stuff is more addictive than advertised!

I do not know how this happened. I missed your Fun Monday post. If the whole wheat bars are raspberry, they have to be good. Happy Fun Monday on this Wednesday morning.
